Sports Day- 19th June 2018

Post date: Jun 20, 2018 10:47:29 PM

Sports day had a different format this year with the Juniors events taking place in the morning and the Infants in the afternoon. It seemed to work really well and there was a wonderful atmosphere all day!

Once again the sun shone and the children all ran their little socks off! As well as being a great family day, it also seemed an ideal opportunity to get out our newly set up uniform rails and raise some extra pennies selling uniform, cakes, drinks and our Ice pops. In fact, we made a staggering profit of £527.48, which will go extremely far towards our cause.

One of the wonderful parts of the day was Alex (or chair) being able to confirm that we have been able to give both heads £5,000 each to spend on our schools! Juniors have spent their money on new sports bibs and will be using the rest to pay for IPads following the successful trial a few months ago. The infants will be using their money for various resources and equipment which I am sure the children will make great use of! In addition, the PTA also give each school £1,200 a term to cover the TA's which are essential to our childrens' learning.

It just goes to show that every 50p for an Ice-pop or £1 for a cup of tea that you give really does add up and make such a difference, so thank you all your support. And as always, thank you for all donations of cake and uniform and all our helpers on the day.
